Our Journey to Finding the Perfect Companions
Three weeks ago, I came across a post from the animal protection organization in our nearby town. They had two-month-old puppies available for adoption, and I thought it would be a great idea to take my son and visit. Little did I know that this visit would lead to us welcoming two wonderful new members into our family.
The Decision to Adopt
When we arrived, there were many dogs, and the woman in charge handed me two puppies: a two-month-old female without a mother, whom we named Shanti, and a four-month-old male named Shiva. She encouraged us to take them home and see how things went, reassuring us that we could bring them back if it didn’t work out.
The Journey Home
Their presence has brought immense joy, especially to the children. The house feels even more like “home” with them around. They are incredibly smart and have already learned some essential rules:
Nature Calls: They go to nature for their business.
Staying Outside: They know not to enter the house.
Respecting the Cat: They don’t chase our cat.
Manners: They don’t jump on people.

The Cat’s Reaction
Our cat was initially not pleased with the new additions. He spent the first week perched on a shelf, clearly upset. However, he gradually found the courage to come down and observe the puppies. While he still maintains his boundaries with an occasional swat if they get too close, he seems to be slowly accepting their presence.
A Source of Joy
Shanti and Shiva have seamlessly integrated into our family. Their calm demeanor, intelligence, and loving nature have made them a perfect fit for our home. They are a source of endless joy, especially for our children, and their presence has truly made our house feel more like a home.
